It seems she is not happy with the screen name given to her and wants to change it. Does it have something to do with the name not being lucky for her?“No,” says Nisha. “I was named Priyanka by my father. But when I joined the industry, there was already a Priyanka. So I took on the assumed name Nisha. But I was never comfortable with it. Whenever someone called me Nisha, I felt odd. I had been thinking of reverting to my original name for a while,” Nisha – oops, Priyanka – is quoted as saying.

Her dad is a chemical businessman, mom is a home-maker, and she has an elder sister who is married. As a child she grew up in Kolkota, but most of her teen years were spent in Delhi where the family re-located subsequently. A 26-year-old pregnant woman was injured after being allegedly hit by a car in which actress Nisha Kothari was travelling at the Mumbai domestic airport on 02 Jan 2008 morning, police said.

Heena Jamtani was hit by Nisha’s car while she was alighting from an auto rickshaw at the airport, they said. The police are yet to register an offence in connection with the incident as the investigating officer in the case was helping Jamtani in getting admitted, a senior police officer from the Santacruz airport police station said. Meanwhile, the family has said that this is not a case of hit-and-run as Nisha’s driver attended to the victim and took her to the hospital. The driver also left Nisha’s number with the hospital authorities.

Nisha Kothari was Ram Gopal Varma's "find" and he had plans to cast her in the same mould as Urmila Matondkar. But it seems during the shoot of the movie Go, the two had a relationship beyond professional interaction. A member of the unit said on condition of anonymity: "Ram Gopal Verma used to arrive on the sets late. Then he would say that he wanted to discuss a few things with leading lady Nisha Kothari. The two would enter Nisha's make-up van and come out only after 2-3 hours. This happened for 4 to 5 consecutive days, resulting in a delay in shooting of the climax of the movie by four days."

The song is based on a very different concept.The number, titled “Chhaa Raha”, shows Ajay and Nisha in many different poses. Each pose depicts a different emotion. While the movie Killer's shooting was underway, Nisha’s co-star Emraan Hashmi , who enjoys the reputation of a ‘serial kisser’, played a prank on her that he would kiss her in a scene. Nisha was apprehensive because she has shunned kissing scenes in films.Anyway, the kiss was not to be. It was just a joke by Emraan. But it raises one apt question: Why this ‘kiss-o-phobia’ on Nisha’s part?

She explains: “Right from day one the producers of the film knew that I won’t do kissing scenes as I am not comfortable doing such scenes irrespective of the banner and co-star. And there is no need of these scenes as the movie’s name is The Killer and not The Kisser”.
